LG Construction + Development

Once known as LG Homes, LG Construction + Development was founded by Brian Goldberg and Marc Lifshin as a real estate development company focused on producing luxury residential and commercial properties.

At inception, we served two main functions, construction and development, and eventually branched into three businesses: LG Development Group in 2005, LG Construction Group in 2008, and our warranty program LG Advantage Group in 2015, which offers service, maintenance, and remodeling once the project is complete.

Over the past 12 years, our hard work and dedication to perfection has established us as a premier full-service general contracting and development firm. While we focus on high-style design and craftsmanship, we know that the process of completing a project well, while paying attention to the clients’ input, is what the market needs and what we’re able to provide. Our process during the project is just as important as the completed product; many companies can get the job done, but few can get it done in a way that also makes the journey enjoyable. 

Meet The Team

Brian Goldberg

CEO & Partner

Brian is a founding partner of LG Construction + Development, and has spent the last 17 years developing, constructing, and renovating over $600 million in high-end residential and commercial projects around the Chicagoland area.

Brian’s relentless pursuit of the highest level of customer service and uncompromising standards, has led us to be a top-rated company across many different construction types and asset classes.

Brian graduated from the University of Illinois with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in General Engineering, and also has an MBA.

Matt Wilke

Chief Operating Officer

Matt’s 14 years of industry success is built on his dedication and professional drive. By keeping his client’s needs foremost, and developing project teams that do the same, he ensures LG Construction + Development thrives.

As COO of LG Construction, Matt oversees all aspects of our construction projects. His hands-on approach to every facet of the process is visible in each of our completed projects.

Matt grew up in Naperville, Illinois, and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management.

Amy Lusher

Director of Sales & Development

Coming from a family of engineers, venturing into the construction industry was natural for Amy. Her lifelong knowledge of construction and design is utilized in our residential and commercial developments over the past 10 years.

Amy oversees the marketing and branding for each of our developments, in addition to coordinating the sales and leasing teams. She also works directly with clients, building relationships from the start.

Amy grew up in Central Illinois and graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Business and Information Management.

Jennifer Albert

Chief Financial Officer

Jennifer has spent over 12 years in public accounting, working in audit, tax, and consulting. She focused primarily on construction and real estate clients, and joined the company after working on a consulting engagement with them.

In addition to Jennifer’s industry-wide experience and knowledge of best practices, she has a passion for the operations side of it, and actually believes accounting is fun!

Jennifer received a Bachelor in Science from Bradley University, is a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the Illinois CPA Society and the AIPCA.

Marc Lifshin


Marc Lifshin is a founder of LG Development Group as well as Core Spaces, focusing on the firm’s student housing complexes, high-end mid/high-rise developments, and multi-unit buildings.

He is heavily involved in all aspects of the development process: potential market and asset identification, underwriting and feasibility analysis, negotiations and acquisition, design and development, through the construction management and product delivery.

Marc is a graduate of University of Illinois with a Bachelor in Structural Engineering and a Minor in Business Administration.

Barry Howard


Barry is a founding partner at LG Development Group and also works with Core paces, managing project financials during construction, and overseeing contracts, orders, invoicing, and draw disbursements.

Barry began his career in management consulting at Accenture, eventually bringing his operational design skills to the construction industry. He helped streamline LG to allow maximum simplicity for everyone involved, creating a portfolio of tools to define roles and responsibilities and to track and manage project budgets throughout construction.

Barry graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor in General Engineering, and has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management with a concentration in Real Estate Management.

Accounts Payable Specialist

LG Construction + Development is a general contracting and real estate development firm with a passion for delivering unique and exciting projects throughout the city of Chicago. Founded in 2005, the company has made a name for itself amongst the best builders in the city with its high-energy, high-integrity approach to its diverse and growing portfolio of work. LG is currently seeking an organized, self-motivated, professional individual to join their accounting team as an Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable Specialist will support the Project Accountant with administrative and accounting tasks to assist the draw process and produce accurate project financials.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate approval and coding of all invoices with appropriate managers and leaders
  • Enter approved payables into the Sage accounting software
  • Review A/P Aging with controller to determine weekly check runs
  • Process bi-weekly check runs and provide signature package to appropriate signer
  • Maintain organized files – both electronic and paper
  • Import company credit card transactions into Sage and review to ensure complete accuracy of entries (appropriate code, job assignment, adequate documentation to support the charge)
  • Obtain and store W-9 information for all 1099 vendors
  • Create monthly draw packets for project managers
  • Generate waivers and funding notices for each draw
  • Record and code semi-monthly payroll into Sage
  • Reconcile vendor statements and assist with resolution of vendor payment issues
  • Respond to vendor inquiries, regardless of payment status

Ideal candidate

  • 2 years of accounting experience in a fast paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Sage or Timberline is preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively with people including executives, project managers, field employees and vendors
  • Highly organized and can prioritize multiple duties & tasks
  • Manage and meet deadlines
  • Ability to follow up and resolve open issues with a sense of urgency

LGA Administrative Assistant

LG Advantage is the small project, service, and warranty division of LG Construction and is currently seeking a collaborative, self-driven, innovative individual, with an enthusiasm for creative problem solving and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment. The LG Advantage Administrative Assistant will support the LG Advantage Manager with administrative tasks to ensure the division continues to deliver the highest level of customer service to all clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Scheduling service internally or through subcontractors to complete owner requests
  • Owner follow up for quality control of completed service items
  • Communication with owners, trades, and LG Advantage team regarding status of completed and pending service items
  • Assist in managing owner expectations through clear, professional, communication
  • Escalate issues internally and through subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient resolution
  • Assist in managing warranty service requests, trade requests, and invoice follow up
  • Assist in digital and hard-copy organization of project documents

Ideal candidate

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office required)
  • Ability to interact effectively with people including executives, clients, project managers, field employees, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Highly organized and can prioritize multiple duties & tasks

Camp Out For Kids

Camp Out For Kids

COFK was founded by LG Construction + Development and Core Partners to give underprivileged kids the opportunity to attend a summer camp in line with their interests. In their first summer in 2008, they were able to send 22 Chicagoland kids to camp. As of today, Camp Out for Kids has sent over 2,000 kids to summer camps around the country, for everything from outdoor adventure to computer programming.

Pariah Foundation

The Pariah Foundation is a non-profit led by three mental health advocates, one of which is an LG exec, that strives to erase the stigma that plague those suffering from mental illness by promoting awareness, encouraging education and raising money to fund causes that assist and improve the lives of those struggling with mental illness. One of these initiatives is Project Compass, a charity that donates vans to Cook County that will transport mentally ill patients to and from court hearings, parole meetings and government mandated health care sessions.

Jackson Chance Foundation

Jackson Chance Foundation works directly with hospitals to provide parking passes for each and every family with a baby in the NICU, regardless of need, because it is our belief that every baby needs a parking pass.
